A dramatic story about an escape from danger and about friendship, which is an island of humanity in the sea of hate. The protagonists of this film are two young men, employees of the railway post. Their inconsiderate practical joke, qualified by the Gestapo as a military sabotage, turns them into outlaws pursued to death. The tragic anabasis they undergo on their involuntary pilgrimage to freedom is in its very substance a merciless struggle for human existence.
